The Ps (formerly the P scale in earlier
versions of iSlideRuleHD) scale (also known as the
Pythagorean scale) is normally found on the top or bottom
rule, but may also be on the slide, and when used with the D
and A scales (or C and B scales) can calculate √(1 - s²), or
with the S scale, a more accurate calculation of the cosine
of small angles. Scale ranges from 0.995 to 0.0. Formula: Ps = √(1 - s²) |
Pt |
The Pt scale, another Pythagorean scale) is normally
placed close by the Ps scale. This scale calculates
√(1 + t²). The scale ranges from 0.0 to 10. |
